Alcatel One Touch T’Pop

Not so long ago Alcatel was pretty strong with their cell phones but the last few years this company was in large troubles. At the CES 2013 we were able to see few new devices they brought and among those are the Alcatel One Touch T’Pop.

This gadget comes to the entry level segment and brings some basic features. We are getting a small device that offers compact design and a clean lines. At this moment we do not have any information’s about the release date, carriers that will bring it nor the price for it.

Even it is an entry level device we can expect to see some really nice performances from it. Under the hood we have a single core MediaTek processor that is clocked at 1 GHz which provides enough power for basic things. Right out of the box we are getting Android 2.3 Ginger Bread that works pretty smooth on this device. There were only few changes to the stock Android for this device so most things remain intact.

Display offers diagonal of 3.5 inch which is quite small on today’s market but fits into the description of the entry level device. We have a HVGA resolution here (480×320 pixels) and the quality is decent but nothing special. On the back there is a 3.2 megapixel camera but no flash, in this segment we also are getting pretty much outdated device. One of the things that most users will need is the microSD card slot for internal memory expansion and you can use 32 GB version.

Spec-wise there is nothing to get excited about, but the T’Pop fits a niche of what will clearly be an affordable and compact smartphone. Since there was no heavy UI getting in the way of basic operations, the T’Pop should perform well.
